Beer drinkers have been duped by mass marketing into the belief that it makes sense to drink only one brand of beer. In truth, brand loyalty in beer makes no more sense than 'vegetable loyalty' in food. Can you imagine it? "No thanks, I'll pass on the mashed potatoes, carrots, bread and roast beef. Me, I'm strictly a broccoli man."

October and November meetings
Posted by: paul on Saturday, August 14, 2010 B.A.S.H.

I forgot to mention at the last meeting that we didn't have a site for our October or November meetings. As a group we have grown in size and several of our members have downsized or embarked on extended remodelings. For those reasons, we've lost meetings at previously traditional sites. A couple of folk are always willing to step in at the last minute, Carroll, Danna and Travis, and their help has made a big difference in being able to host a monthly meeting this year. Now I am appealling to the rest of you to step forward and be willing to host a meeting.

August 2010 Meeting Minutes

B.A.S.H.’s one-two weekend punch, which began with National Mead Day on Saturday, August 7th was completed the next day with the August monthly meeting, hosted by Danna Sharpe at her home in Port Aransas. Club President Paul Holder opened business by introducing new members Josh and Christie Anderson and Abbey Swank’s guest, Dustin Wing. Treasurer Carroll Pate reported a healthy account balance after the recent influx of annual dues, and invited everyone to pay up for the new fiscal year if they haven’t already done so.

Mead Mayhem !
Posted by: secretary on Sunday, August 08, 2010 Meetings & Events

The Mead Day celebration to end all Mead Day celebrations was held on Saturday, August 7 at the bachelor pad of B.A.S.H. Vice President Travis Clapp. Travis last hosted the February, 2010 monthly meeting. Several female attendees fell victim to Travis’ stereotypically nasty bathroom. After this debacle, Travis embarked on a multi-month campaign to clean his bathroom, repair his sullied reputation and redefine his sexual identity. While still semi-sober on Saturday, I toured the remade bathroom and can attest to its newfound cleanliness. Travis left nothing to chance, with a can of Glade Strawberries and Cream air freshener and a nine pack of Quilted Northern t.p. in reserve. The flat panel TV showing reruns of "The View" was a bit much, however. Alas, no women were on hand to utilize the remade facilities.

July 2010 Meeting Minutes
Posted by: secretary on Monday, July 12, 2010 Meetings & Events

Many well-rounded beers (and well-rounded beer bellies) were on display at the July, 2010 B.A.S.H. meeting and pool party, held on Sunday the 11th. Incoming club president Paul Holder hosted the extravaganza. Paul opened business by introducing new vice president Travis Clapp and holdover officers Carroll Pate (treasurer) and Wild Bill Lehfeld (secretary). Paul also thanked past president Aggie Bill Hughen and vice president Shrinking Jason Lewis for their outstanding leadership over the past twelve months. Incidentally, Shrinking Jason was not present. It seems he was attending his bachelor party in Austin. This marriage virus is spreading through B.A.S.H. at an alarming rate.

June, 2010 Minutes
Posted by: paul on Friday, June 25, 2010 Meetings & Events

June 13 was a lucky day for BASH members as Nikki and John hosted our monthly meeting in their backyard. Secretary Wild Billl was out of town and so we will miss his insightful minutes of this meeting. But I will try to cover as much as possible given my memory.
