The Bay Area Society of Homebrewers (B.A.S.H.) participated in the Corpus Christi Beer Festival on Saturday, June 3rd from noon – 6 p.m. The event was held at the Art Center of CC on N. Shoreline downtown. While the club was involved with pre-pandemic festivals, this was the first year we were able to serve free samples of homebrew.
We were mostly setup by 10:30 a.m. in one of our shade canopies, in a choice location under a large tree. We hobnobbed with the brewery tents until VIPs began showing up at noon. The general public was admitted starting at 1 p.m. We dispensed goodwill, brewing knowledge and 2-3 ounce free samples of homebrew to a friendly, inquisitive and thirty customer base.
On draft, we had a very fresh Kolsch, the Big Brew Nearly Nirvana pale ale and a citrusy pale ale. Bottled offerings included strong bitter British ale, helles bock, blonde biere de garde, dark strong Belgian ale, dry stout, Scottish ale, cider spritzer and a mystery beer. We received many complements on our beer – a couple of deaths, a few stomach pumps but a LOT OF COMPLEMENTS!
On a separate table we had scannable QR codes for those interested in being added to our distribution list and/or filling out a membership application. Samples of grains and hops were also on display. Our donation jar netted some funds for the club treasury.
