December 2020 AHA Sanctioned Competition Results

An AHA sanctioned B.A.S.H. club-only competition was held on Tuesday, December 8 at Lazy Beach Brewing. This competition was for the winning beers from the August, October and November 2020 competitions held during regular monthly meetings. The BJCP judges were Paul Holder and Cory Mathews. Tim Grace was the steward.

James Fowler’s Weissbier was the August winner. Sadly, this hefe is no longer with us. Our grief is tempered with the knowledge that the beer went to a better place – James’ belly! Wild Bill Lehfeld’s “Hans and Frantz” Festbier (the October winner) and Christmas Strong American Ale (the November winner) were left to duke it out. Results were as follows:

1. Festbier (BJCP 4B) – 33.5/50

2. Winter Seasonal Beer (BJCP 30C/22B) – 28.5/50

Wild Bill’s Festbier is thus the winner and his name will appear in a future issue of Zymurgy Magazine. Each beer received feedback in the form of BJCP score sheets filled out by each judge. Congratulations, Wild Bill!
