July 2021 AHA Sanctioned Competition Results

An AHA sanctioned B.A.S.H. club-only competition was held on Monday, July 12 at Lazy Beach Brewing. This competition was for the winning beers from the March, April and June 2021 competitions held during regular monthly meetings. The BJCP judges were Paul Holder and Cory Mathews. Wild Bill Lehfeld was the steward.

Chris Ackman’s Scottish Export Ale was the March winner. Wild Bill’s Tropical Stout (the

April winner) and Ron Merriman’s American Blonde Ale (the June winner) Rounded out the competition. Results were as follows:

  1. Tropical Stout (BJCP 16C) – 37/50

  2. American Blonde Ale (BJCP 18A) – 33/50

  3. Scottish Export Ale (BJCP 14C) – 31.5/50

Wild Bill’s Tropical Stout is thus the winner and his name will appear in a future issue of Zymurgy Magazine. Each beer received feedback in the form of BJCP score sheets filled out by each judge. The score sheets will be given to the brewers at the August meeting. Congratulations, Wild Bill!
