Wild Bill Lehfeld hosted the July, 2023 B.A.S.H. meeting on Sunday the 9th at B&J’s Pizza on Staples at Timbergate.
Provisional president Walt Crawford (elected last month in absentia) declined the job. In a moment of weakness, Jack Heim agreed to serve if elected. Nomination and election were swift. Jack joined the other officers for 2024 (treasurer -- Walt, secretary – Wild Bill, competition director – Chris Ackman, social events director – Mary Kay Schultz, social media director – Elizabeth Ackman) in reciting their solemn oaths of poverty, chastity and sobriety. After singing the club anthem, they all began shaking hands, slapping backs, kissing babies and flashing “V for Victory” signs. Or something.
Jack called the meeting to order and welcomed new members Doug Funk, Kyle Jameson, Olivia Robson and Mark Marshall. He also encouraged members to attend the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) in Denver this September. Treasurer Walt collected dues from new and returning members, and reminded others to pay up if they haven’t done so. The new fiscal year begins this month.
In his secretary’s report, Wild Bill reviewed upcoming meeting hosts and competitions. Our tally of brewing volume for June, 2023 was as follows: Jason Fransham – 6.75 gallon, Wild Bill – 2.5 gallons, Tom Ormrod – 10 gallons. YTD totals for 2023: Chris Ackman – 15 gallons, Vic Aguilar – 44 gallons, Roger Barnaby – 5 gallons, Big Brew – 15 gallons, Dave & Kathy Clark – 5 gallons, Walt Crawford – 5 gallons, Jason Fransham – 41 gallons, Nick Jones – 5 gallons, Sabrina Krueger – 18.5, Wild Bill Lehfeld– 15 gallons, Tom Ormrod – 67.5 gallons, Jay Porterfield – 6 gallons, Andy Vaughn – 35 gallons. Total YTD = 277 gallons beer.

Mary Kay reported on an upcoming social for chicken shit bingo @ The Annex on Sunday, July 30. Stay tuned for the announcement.
There was no competition this month. Wild Bill concluded the meeting with a toast to founding member Paul Holder. Paul had hosted the July meeting for 20+ years
As we feasted on B&J’s pizza, we enjoyed the Big Brew’s Nearly Nirvana Pale Ale, miscellaneous homebrews and B&J’s draft and packaged beers. Bartender Thomas “Squid” Alegria kept our thirst in check.
