Tim Grace and Mary Kay Schultz hosted the March, 2026 B.A.S.H. meeting on Sunday the 8th at their condo in downtown Corpus Christi. President Vic Aguilar called the meeting to order, thanked our hosts and welcomed guests Steve and Lauren Rooney and Sandra Schneider.

Treasurer/Embezzler Walt Crawford was on a cruise, so we probably won the lottery! Secretary Wild Bill Lehfeld reviewed upcoming meetings, special events and competitions. The American Homebrewers Association has published the official recipes for May’s Big Brew – George and Aaron’s Pre-Prohibition Porter, Monk’s Ration Trappist Style Single and Dark Cellar Imperial Stout. Chris Ackman has agreed to brew the porter and we will probably brew one of the other recipes, also. Mary Kay announced  upcoming socials for bingo at Nueces Brewing (3/19?) and at the Port Aransas VFW sometime in April. Stay tuned …

Brewing volumes for January and February are as follows:  Chris  – 5 gallons, Vic – 17 gallons, Jason Fransham – 5 gallons, Wild Bill – 2.5 gallons, Tom Ormrod – 18 gallons, Hershel Tritt – 4 gallons mead, Andy Vaughn – 5 gallons, total = 56.5 gallons beer and mead.

There was no competition this month.

As we feasted on shrimp and crawfish creole, we sampled old homebrews and Hershel Tritt’s blueberry/cherry mead. The usual astonishing array of commercial beers were shared, including by Chris (Tox Monk’s Head Munich-Style Dunkel), John Brett (Perennial Barrel Aged Vermillion Barleywine), Jason (Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA), Wild Bill (Russian River Pliny The Elder DIPA), Mark Marshall (Parish Strawberry Canebreak/Pineapple Mochi/Reve Coffee Stout), Tom (Night Owl Rock Krawl Raspberry Jalapeño), Robert Pruski (Beach Ball Queen Grace Irish Red Ale) and Hershel (Wolf Ridge Dire Wolf Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout/XII Anniversary BBA Stout).
