Dave and Kathy Clark hosted the December 2023 B.A.S.H. meeting on Sunday the 10th at their home in Corpus Christi.
President Jack Heim called the meeting to order and thanked our hosts. Walt Crawford presented the Treasurer’s report and assured us that THIS lottery ticket will be a big winner!
In his secretary’s report, Wild Bill Lehfeld reviewed upcoming meeting hosts and competitions. Our tally of brewing volume for November, 2023 was as follows: Iron Mash – 15 gallons, Jason Fransham – 7 gallons, Andy Vaughn – 10 gallons. YTD totals for 2023: Chris Ackman – 25 gallons, Vic Aguilar – 44 gallons, Roger Barnaby – 5 gallons, Big Brew – 15 gallons, Dave & Kathy Clark – 20 gallons, Walt Crawford – 5 gallons, Jason Fransham – 63 gallons, John Fulton – 15 gallons, Iron Mash – 15 gallons, Nick Jones – 5 gallons, Sabrina Krueger – 18.5 gallons, Wild Bill Lehfeld – 25 gallons, Tom Ormrod – 104 gallons, Jay Porterfield – 11 gallons, Andy Vaughn – 55 gallons, Jon Watson – 10 gallons. Total YTD = 435.5 gallons beer (489 gallons beer, wine and mead in 2022).
Mary Kay Schultz provided more info on the upcoming San Antonio brewery tour the weekend of January 5 – 7. The plan is to meet at Tim and Mary Kay’s house in SA on Friday 1/5 for happy hour, then walk to Freetail Brewing. The 12-passenger van and driver will take us on the tour Saturday. Look for an email with motel info.
There was no competition this month. As we wolfed down chili, we enjoyed new homebrews from Vic (rum barrel aged stout), John (jalapeño amber ale) and Andy (Christymas II), as well as eggnog from Jason. Among the interesting commercial beers were Faubourg Dat’suma IPA w/ Satsuma (Chris), Lil’ Helper Midwest Coast IPA (Dave), Saint Arnold Banger IPA (Rusty Keyes) and Adelberts Tripel B (Tim/Mary Kay).
