July 2024 Meeting Minutes

Wild Bill Lehfeld hosted the July, 2024 B.A.S.H. meeting on Sunday the 14th at B&J’s Pizza on Staples at Timbergate.

Incoming president Vic Aguilar called the meeting to order and welcomed new members Mark and Cathy Cross and guests Bob Herndon (Beeville) and Candice (Scott and Debbie Mazur’s daughter). Treasurer Walt Crawford collected dues from returning members, and reminded others to pay up if they haven’t done so. The new fiscal year begins this month. We voted to extend our five complimentary memberships for one more year.

In his secretary’s report, Wild Bill Lehfeld reviewed upcoming meeting hosts and competitions. Our tally of brewing volume for June 2024 was as follows: Jason Fransham – 7.75 gallons, Nick Jones – 5 gallons, Wild Bill – 2.5 gallons, Jay Porterfield – 5 gallons, Joe Wyatt – 2 gallons. YTD totals for 2024: Chris Ackman – 2 gallons, Vic Aguilar– 10 gallons, Will Amaya -- 15 gallons, Big Brew – 14 gallons, Jason – 20.75 gallons, John Fulton – 10.5 gallons, Nick Jones – 5 gallons, Mike Kneale/Paul Froeschner – 13 gallons, Wild Bill – 15 gallons, Tom Ormrod – 10 gallons, Jay Porterfield – 10 gallons, Joe Wyatt – 2 gallons. Total for 2024 = 127.25 gallons (452 gallons beer and mead in 2023).

There was no competition this month.

As we feasted on B&J’s pizza, we enjoyed the Big Brew’s The Empire Strikes Back Dark Ale, new homebrews from Vic (session IPA), Jay (SMASH IPA) and Joe (blueberry maple acerglyn mead) and B&J’s draft and packaged beers. Bartender Alex kept our pint glasses full.
