September 2023 Meeting Minutes

Mark Woerner hosted the September 2023 B.A.S.H. meeting on Sunday the 10 th at his home and big game museum in Corpus Christi.

President Jack Heim called the meeting to order, thanked our host and welcomed new member John Feng, USMC. Walt Crawford presented the Treasurer’s report.

In his secretary’s report, Wild Bill Lehfeld reviewed upcoming meeting hosts and competitions. Our tally of brewing volume for August, 2023 was as follows: Dave/Kathy Clark – 5 gallons, Wild Bill – 2.5 gallons, Andy Vaughn – 5 gallons. YTD totals for 2023: Chris Ackman – 20 gallons, Vic Aguilar – 44 gallons, Roger Barnaby – 5 gallons, Big Brew – 15 gallons, Dave & Kathy Clark – 15 gallons, Walt Crawford – 5 gallons, Jason Fransham – 41 gallons, John Fulton – 10 gallons, Nick Jones – 5 gallons, Sabrina Krueger – 18.5, `Wild Bill Lehfeld– 20 gallons, Tom Ormrod – 96 gallons, Jay Porterfield – 6 gallons, Andy Vaughn – 45 gallons. Total YTD = 345.5 gallons beer.

In new business, we discussed the upcoming Iron Mash XX. We approved Kathy’s proposal to buy a beer flaw kit and use it to taste off-favors during meetings without competitions. We also agreed to bring recipes for competition beers and publish the recipes of winning beers on the website.

There was no competition this month. As we feasted on Mark’s nilgai sausage and pheasant tortilla soup, we reduced homebrew inventory and enjoyed interesting commercial beers from Rusty Keyes (New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA), Jay Porterfield (Jester King ???/Parish Brewing Ghost In The Machine NEIPA) and Andy (Manhattan Project Oktoberfest).
